Event cancellation policy
Plans change, and Ripple accounts for that. What happens next depends on whether money has already changed hands.
Free events
- A free event can be cancelled at any time, at no cost to the host.
- Everyone who registered is notified automatically.
Paid events
- A paid event can also be cancelled at any time.
- If the host cancels after tickets have already been bought, the host is required to pay a $100 fine.
- The host's account is placed on hold until that fine is settled — no new events can be created while the hold is active.
- If the fine remains unpaid 30 days after the cancellation, the matter attracts legal action.
Refund policy
If an event is cancelled, nobody who bought a ticket is left out of pocket — provided the refund is claimed in time.
- When an event is cancelled, all ticket holders are eligible for a refund.
- Refunds are paid out within 72 hours of the refund being claimed in the app.
- Claims must be made within 30 days of the event being cancelled. After 30 days the refund is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
To claim, open the account section, select Cancelled Tickets, and enter the details requested. See the FAQ for the step-by-step version.
Payouts for hosts
- Host payouts are settled by EcoCash or direct bank settlement.
- Request a payout from the account section once your event is complete and your tickets have been verified.
- The amount shown in the app is the amount that reaches your account — see the FAQ for verification thresholds and processing times.
Content and safety policy
Ripple is a place to meet people and go to events. Some things are never acceptable here, regardless of context or intent.
Nudity and sexual content
- Nudity and sexually explicit content are not allowed anywhere on Ripple — profiles, avatars, stories, chats, Upfors, event covers or event listings.
- Content that sexualises any user is removed and the account is actioned.
Child safety — zero tolerance
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is illegal. It is removed on sight, the account is permanently banned, and the matter is reported to the relevant authorities.
- Any sexualisation of a minor, grooming behaviour or attempt to solicit a minor results in an immediate permanent ban and a report.
- Ripple is not intended for anyone under 16. See our Child Safety Policy.
Also prohibited
- Harassment, bullying, hate speech and threats of violence.
- Impersonating another person, brand or event organiser.
- Events or listings promoting illegal activity or illegal goods.
- Fraudulent tickets, fake events and payment scams.
Reporting and enforcement
- Anything that breaks these rules can be reported from inside the app.
- Every report is reviewed, and confirmed breaches lead to removal of the content.
- Depending on severity, accounts are warned, suspended, or permanently banned. Illegal content is reported to the authorities.
- To reach the team directly, use the contact page or email support@ripplestayconnected.com.
